HIIT Counter is an interval timer for iPhone and iPad, made by Joao Frasco ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: HIIT Counter does not collect your data. Everything stays on your device.
Summary
- No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- No data is sent to me or to any third party. The app does not use the network.
- Apple Health access is optional and is used only to save your workouts on your own device.
Information the app stores on your device
HIIT Counter stores the following locally, on your iPhone or iPad only:
- Workout settings and presets: your Train and Rest times, sets, exercises, and the names of presets you save.
- Workout history: the date, duration, sets, and exercises of each completed or ended workout, your streaks, and whether the workout was saved to Apple Health.
- App settings: cue preferences (sounds, voice, haptics), the Apple Health toggle, an optional body-weight value used for calorie estimates, and the AI features toggle.
This information is not synced to iCloud, not uploaded, and not shared. Deleting the app removes it.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
You choose whether to connect HIIT Counter to Apple Health. If you do:
- The app writes your completed workouts (as High Intensity Interval Training), estimated active energy, and interval markers to Apple Health so they appear in Fitness and Health.
- The app reads your body mass (only to estimate calories) and your existing HIIT workouts (only to avoid saving the same workout twice).
Health data is read and written on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework. HIIT Counter does not use Health data for advertising or marketing, does not sell it, and does not disclose it to anyone. You can change or revoke access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > HIIT Counter, or turn off Sync to Apple Health inside the app.
Apple Intelligence (optional AI features)
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, HIIT Counter can draft an interval workout from a description you type, show a short encouragement line, and show a weekly insight based on a summary of your recent workouts. These features use Apple's on-device language model. Your text and workout summary are not sent to me or to any server by the app. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable or you switch AI features off in Settings, the rest of the app works normally.
Siri, Shortcuts, and Live Activities
If you use Siri or Shortcuts to start a workout, or Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, this is handled by iOS on your device. The app shows your current interval there; this information is not sent anywhere by HIIT Counter.
Audio
HIIT Counter plays sound cues and voice clips. It does not use the microphone and does not record audio.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Third parties
HIIT Counter contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking code. Your use of Apple services (Apple Health, Apple Intelligence, the App Store) is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, I will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
